Gentle Parenting or Lack of Parenting
What is Gentle parenting? I believe many young parents have taken the idea out of context and turned it into a lack of parenting. Now we have the older generations complaining that gentle parenting does nothing and it’s a horrible way to parent and children learn nothing. This shows that they know the meaning of gentle parenting and what it actually is.
If you put gentle parenting in simple terms, it’s just not beating your child for normal human behaviors. This is why I hate the term gentle parenting. Parenting shouldn’t have a specific label. If you know how to treat children like they are a person, then that is just parenting. Plain and simple.
For whatever reason, People fail to realize you aren’t supposed to physically, mentally, and verbally abuse your children into doing the things you want them to do. To the better of us, this is common sense. To others, they believe in scaring the child into good behavior which is only creating trauma. These same people are the ones that wonder why their adult children want nothing to do with them.
Getting into “gentle” parenting. What are some of the things that can make the communication and response from a child better? Well, we need to teach children proper ways to communicate because they imitate parental behaviors.
